New Delhi: In the phase 6 of the Lok Sabha elections, President Droupadi Murmu cast her ballot on Saturday, May 25, at an all-women polling place in the New Delhi constituency, according to officials. Around nine in the morning, according to them, Droupadi Murmu arrived at the pink-and-white-themed booth inside the President’s Estate. Later, Droupadi Murmu proudly displayed her inked finger while posing for pictures with media members in front of a backdrop that said, “I’m a proud voter.”.

President Droupadi Murmu waited in queue to cast her vote at the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Vidyalaya voting station, located inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan compound. A post on X stated that the booth is pink and run by female employees.

Voting for Chandni Chowk, North East Delhi, East Delhi, New Delhi, North West Delhi, West Delhi, and South Delhi, seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, started at seven in the morning. On July 25, 2022, Droupadi Murmu, an Odisha native, took the oath of office as India’s 15th president.

On November 28 of last year, she obtained a new voter identity card with the changed address. Her address from Odisha was on her previous voter ID.

The vice president, Jagdeep Dhankar, and his spouse, Sudesh Dhankhar, arrived at the polling location. “Voting is a duty as well as a significant power. India, the world’s most vibrant, engaged, and efficient democracy, serves as an example for other nations’ democracies,” he stated.

The first man to cast a ballot at his polling place was Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar. A certificate for voting was also given to him. Mr. Jaishankar held his certificate and remarked, “I was the first male voter in this booth.”

The Foreign Minister stated his optimism that Delhi voters would re-elect the Modi administration. We urge everyone to vote because this is crucial for the country. “I have no doubt that the BJP will regain its majority in the elections,” he stated.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri urged voters to “shed their apathy” and turn out in large numbers to voting places as he cast his ballot. Vote in great numbers when you go out. India has an extremely high level of political consciousness. Get over your indifference. The problems are fairly obvious; they have to do with development. However, the opposition is framing these issues in an attempt to fabricate a story to achieve their objectives. They’ve gone insane. We’re going to win three straight in Delhi,” he declared.

Today, elections will be held in Delhi, the nation’s capital, in all seven Lok Sabha seats. These comprise Chandni Chowk, New Delhi, North East Delhi, East Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi, and North West Delhi. In a strict security and preparations setting, 58 parliamentary seats spread across seven states and one Union Territory (UT) saw the start of the Sabha elections.
