Mandi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked Congress to point out where he has ever supported Sharia Law, which Congress has claimed as practising Muslim Personal Law, at a rally held in Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. He again expressed his stand on the issue of UCC, pointing out that it is very important since the law should not be selective but rather protect everyone in the country regardless of their faith.

During his speech to the gathering, Modi vowed to fulfil the UCC alongside the country’s constitutional provision regarding the Supreme Court, insisting that the UCC would be vital in facilitating the unification of the legal systems regardless of the people’s religious beliefs. He accused Congress of being in the process of delaying the application of UCC while endorsing Shari’a law under the flag of the Muslim Personal Law.

He also endorsed BJP’s candidate Kangana Ranaut for missing Manshi, painting her as the beacon of youth voice and incumbency. He demanded that Ranaut should not be further insulted and abused by Congress as such remarks are not only humiliating her but also the people of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh and every daughter of the state.

Besides, there was resentment in Himachal Pradesh, where Modi accused the Congress government of siphoning off central assistance released for the flood affected. When he returned to power, he assured the public that he would shed light on the incident and make necessary changes.

The BJP also claims that the Centre had also provided a large amount of funding, totalling to ₹1,762 crore, for relief and rescue during the floods and for developmental infrastructure projects. However, it alleges that Congress has been, needless to say, it accuses Congress of tendering aid selectively to only those individuals.

During his speech, Modi called for the people of Mandi to give a befitting reply to the Congress Party for its low remarks and give the BJP their vote for the elections. He underlined progressive government and reproduced the Congress for not leaving the feudal structure of thought.
