Indore: With a courageous act of defiance against state government orders, the Mayor and Commissioner of Indore Municipal Corporation sparked a dispute, as they threw away the government guidelines and dressed following their own rules. The state government had introduced a uniform dress code by order number 2358, dated December 28, 2020, for all municipal corporations in Madhya Pradesh. The objective of the order was to further unify uniforms for employees and officials of the municipalities in the state by the order.
The order from the government stipulated that males could wear navy blue trousers and sky blue shirts in conjunction with a neat tie. Also, the female employees wore a sky blue sari, sky blue kurti, a blouse, a navy blue salwar, and a dupatta. These circulars are issued by the Urban Development and Housing Department and classify all commissioners, project officers, divisional joint directors of urban administration and development, district urban development agencies as well as Municipal Chief officers as receivers of the circular, assuring them that they must follow the dress code established.
On the other hand, the Mayor of Indore Municipal Corporation and the Commissioner seem to have brazenly ignored the instructions passed by higher authorities and instead imposed uniform standards as per their discretion. Such unilateral decisions are often met with harsh criticism, such as falsely defending heroes in the name of the nation and showing a major violation of the protocol.
Responsible for public relations decisions of Congress General Secretary Rakesh Singh Yadav, he wants the Chief Minister to pay urgent attention and be insidious because such behaviour is unacceptable. He noted how he bypassed regulations without the state’s consent by improperly altering the wears.
This came as a big disclosure by the opposition leader in the municipality when he disclosed that his clash with the commissioner concerning the uniform issue led to 600 uniforms being tailored in defiance of the official dress code. He seeks the one to support the added expense of these clothing items, and the topic of obsessive spending is pointed out by him.
