Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to the Takht Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib in the city of Patna on Monday. He wore a Sikh turban as a way of honoring Sikh culture. He rhymed every step with great respect towards historical Gurudwara and helped to serve meals to devotees.

Expressing his sentiments, PM Modi shared on X, “Prayed at Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib this morning. Felt truly blessed to experience divinity, serenity, and the rich history of this sacred place. This Gurudwara has a close link with Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Our Government had the honor of marking his 350th Parkash Utsav in a grand manner. May the teachings of the Sikh Gurus continue to inspire and guide us all.”

Acknowledging the principles of Sikhism, PM Modi emphasized the importance of seva, stating, “Sikhism is rooted in the principles of equality, justice, and compassion. Central to Sikhism is seva. This morning in Patna, I also had the honor of taking part in seva as well. It was a very humbling and special experience.”

PM Modi joined during his visit to former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, who is fighting for re-election in the Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency. The press secretary Prasad said on occasion, “It’s a historic greeting and a matter of pride, not only for us, but also for the people because our Prime minister is the first Prime Minister who has visited the Gurdwara Building Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib.”

With regards to Modi’s linkage with the community service, Prasad mentioned that “Modi ji helped in the service at Gurdwara, cooked food and made bread rolls and fed the community kitchen to the community members with his own hands”.
