Bijapur: The Naxals have been encouraged by the deputy chief minister of Chhattisgarh to unite and communicate with the government in order to obtain answers. His appeal came barely hours after twelve Naxalites were killed in Bijapur on Friday during an encounter.

“I appeal to them (the Naxals) to come in and talk with our government, which is prepared to offer very good services, more of which will be revealed in the future”, said Vijay Sharma as he informed the media. “Talks should be used to find solutions to the problems. Every village should experience development. Why are the people of Bastar being held captive?” He further continued.

“Around a thousand soldiers of the DRG, STF, and Cobra units of Bijapur and Dantewada had set out for the joint operation,” he said, speaking about the security forces’ mission. Thankfully, no soldiers were hurt during the operation.” Following the operation, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai praised the security troops.

In addition to congratulating the team on their successful encounter in Bijapur, State Home Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma pointed out that security personnel had conducted a number of encounters in the previous month. He reaffirmed the state government’s straightforward stance towards Maoists, declaring himself open to negotiations and pushing Maoist youths to participate in development initiatives, with a particular emphasis on improving Bastar’s inner villages.

“Naxals and security forces engaged in a battle in the Bijapur district’s Gangaloor sector. Twelve of the Naxals’ dead bodies had been found. I commend our senior commanders and jawans. Activities against the Naxalites have increased since the BJP took power in Chhattisgarh, and we are putting up an intense battle against them. Both our Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi want the end of naxalism in Chhattisgarh. The double-engine government is working in our favor,” CM Vishnu Deo Sai told press.

On Friday, a fight broke out between Naxals and security guards in the Chhattisgarh jungle near Pidiya village. In an incident earlier this month in Kanker, Chhattisgarh’s Bastar area, three security officials were hurt and 29 Naxals were killed.
