Today, the chief minister, Dr Mohan Yadav, addressed a public meeting to campaign for BJP candidate Sudhir Gupta, who is contesting from the Mandsaur Lok Sabha constituency. He appreciated the role that the Indian Prime Minister plays in writing a golden script of development for the continuous presence of the country on the world stage. But still, CM Mohan seems to be targeting Congress through his message. He said that Nehru sent water from another city to wash his clothes while his countrymen were in dire straits and in poverty, thus criticizing the extravagant lifestyle of Congress leaders.

While addressing the gathering, CM Mohan reiterated his criticism of the Congress, stating that under Congress rule, India was repeatedly humiliated. He recounted an incident from the time of the inauguration of the Somnath Temple when Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had invited Jawaharlal Nehru, but he declined, highlighting Nehru’s reliance on external resources even for mundane tasks like laundry. Mohan emphasized that this problem has persisted from Nehru’s time to the present generation. He emphasized how Congress treated historical figures like Lord Somnath and Lord Rama with hostility.

CM Mohan also thanked the people of Garoth for still showing their willingness to come and vote in spite of it being a hot weather and expressed gratitude to them for their unblemished support to the BJP. He said that the voters of Garoth-Mandsaur, no less than gods, have made up their mind and they have decided by such majority to give PM Modi a chance to carry on with the task of India’s development.

It contains classic rallying speeches used to stir up people during election campaigns where the candidates place the successes of their parties in contrast to the apparent shortcomings of the opponents while appealing to the electorate’s emotions. Here, the factual state of the matter is that the political division and political leaders’ devotion and dedication to public opinion are highlighted in an effort to sway the voters during the elections.
