The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is currently conducting raids at various locations in Ranchi. A huge amount of cash has been recovered from the household help of Sanjiv Lal, the personal secretary to Jharkhand rural development minister Alamgir Alam, in connection with the Virendra Ram case.
According to reports, the agency recovered around Rs 20 crore cash from the household help of Sanjiv Lal PS to Alamgir Alam.
Video footage of the search showed wads of currency notes spread in a room that is alleged to be of the domestic help of Sanjiv Lal PS to Alamgir Alam.
The case related to the arrest of one Virendra Ram, the chief engineer at the Jharkhand Rural Development Department. The ED arrested him in February 2023 in a money laundering case associated with alleged irregularities in the implementation of certain schemes.
Veerendra K Ram, accused of amassing property worth 100 Crore, was arrested by the ED in February 2023 in a money laundering case linked to alleged irregularities in the implementation of some schemes.
