A 13-year-old young boy died while four others were injured in a vicious attack by a local man armed with a knife in an east London suburb on Tuesday. The suspect was a 36-year-old man, who was addressed by the police and caught at the scene, according to the confessional statement given by the police. The policemen became the second casualties. Two bystanders were also injured. The authorities, however, have managed to allay people’s apprehensions, as they have made it clear that the case is not investigated as terrorism-related.

Several video podcasts from social media depicted the attacker who stabbed people in an apparently Samurai-like manner with his weapon on Nanjing roads in rather residential districts. The police of the Metropolitan Municipality came to the situation on alert just before 7 o’clock in the morning, calling for the emergency service crews, such as fire and ambulances, to step in as soon as possible. At the moment, the status of the wounded individual was left unknown, and confirmation that the sole perpetrator in question had not evaded the authorities.

Mr Adelekan, the Officer in charge and assistant Commissioner of Police, then came to show concern and sympathy for the hapless victims. He said the authorities would be revealing more information as facts unfold. Adelekan underscored that the investigation was still ongoing; there were no signs so far that it was a terrorist activity.

The current British Home Secretary, James Cleverly, said that he is regularly getting informed about how this incident is being handled and he asked people to avoid any sort of unnecessary speculation or sharing of online content concerning this particular case. Losing a son or daughter in a train track accident is a heartbreaking tragedy.

The reaction of authorities was to stop the Hainault tube station in Ilford because it was part of the ongoing police investigation. Transport London gave notice to the effect that the road will be closed while assigning commuters their alternative routes.
