Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies under the leadership of the NDA have crossed the milestone figure of 100 seats, which the party secured in the early phase of voting and expressed its confidence towards achieving the ‘400 paar’ goal in Lok Sabha elections of 2024. Amit Shah emphasized that the BJP’s progress towards its goal of securing 400-plus Lok Sabha seats is backed by the blessings and support of the people. Speaking in Guwahati, he highlighted the BJP’s positive reception in Southern India based on initial trends.

On the same day, before the roadshow in support of the BJP’s candidate, Bijuli Kalita, Medhi was in Guwahati, where he had visited. It is in Assam where the BJP is envisioned to try its luck in all but one seat, while the AGP and UPPL might take the two and one seat, respectively. The regulation of the third voting phase will be carried out on May 7.

Standing in front of the press conference, Amit Shah accused the Congress of pulling the wool over the eyes of the people, manipulating the electorate with false information regarding BJP’s plans to amend the Constitution and abolish the reservation system. Stressing upon the notion of BJP’s undeterred efforts in winning over 12 out of the 14 constituencies of the state of Assam, he also shared his disapproval of the faulty practices of the Congress, which has degenerated into a culture of political appeasement.

Shah reiterated that the BJP stands to eliminate caste and religion-based reservations and expressed the need to ensure the implementation of one law in the entire India where people adhere to the Uniform Civil Code independent of their religion. His arguments stressed how secularism was necessary as a pillar of a democratic country and that laws of faith were contrary to the very essence of the Constitution.

A viral video showed Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s helicopter encountering a frightening moment shortly after takeoff in Bihar’s Begusarai. Reports indicated the incident occurred as Shah departed after addressing a rally supporting NDA candidates. The video depicted the helicopter swaying to the right, nearly touching the ground before the pilot regained control, narrowly avoiding a potential accident.
