The derailing of a local train on the line Panvel-CSMT created a disruption in harbour innovation, and the train services were stopped. The incident unfolded around 11:43 am at CSMT station, one coach’s wheel came off just a few metres away from the station master’s cabin, from which the control was not transferred to Mumbai Railway.

Fortunately, no passenger injuries occurred which is a reason to be grateful. In spite of that, the schedules of the Harbour Line had gaps, which resulted in crowd-prone at the CSMT stations. As a short-term assistance, trains leading to CSMT will stop at Masjid station, and trains on the Dubar Line will operate between Wadala station until further intimation.

It was affirmed by main line services, being unaffected by all these mess. With the presence of officials, the normalization of ventures is enhanced by them providing the intervention on-site.

“Harbour line section trains are suspended between CSMT – Vadala Road due to unavoidable circumstances,” informed Mumbai’s Central Railway division on X. “Passengers can use Mainline services between CSMT and Kurla section in both directions.” Expressing frustration, commuters vented on social media about the delays.

“@Central_Railway continues its poor service on the first day of the week. Running 45 minutes late & Harbour Line passengers walking on tracks,” lamented a user on X. Another shared, “The longest I’ve stood still in Mumbai is when the local stopped before Wadala station for over 20 mins.”
