Voting is being held on 88 Lok Sabha seats in 12 states and one union territory on Friday (Lok Sabha Election 2024). A total of 1202 candidates are in the fray for the second phase of voting (Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 2). In this phase, voting is being held on 6 seats of Madhya Pradesh which has 29 Lok Sabha seats. These seats include Tikamgarh, Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa and Hoshangabad Lok Sabha.

BJP candidate Darshan Singh Chaudhary cast his vote from Hoshangabad Narsinghpur parliamentary constituency. He voted at booth number 247 in village Chandon.

BJP candidate Dr Virendra Khatik cast his vote from Tikamgarh Lok Sabha seat. The minister along with his wife and daughter voted at polling station number 74 located in Civil Lines of the city. He said that compared to last time, this time there is amazing enthusiasm among the people. There is a long queue at the polling booth since 7 in the morning.

“The administration and the government have also done a lot of work to increase the voting percentage in the second phase. This election is not about the region and state but about the country and every person is voting for the nation”, said Dr. Khatik. As he had full hope that Narendra Modi will again become the Prime Minister for the third time, on being questioned regarding the challenge to Congress, he said that when Congress does not have a candidate and their is the point of challenge. “Ever since I started contesting elections, I have always been moving forward and this time I will go even further”, he added.

Congress candidate Pankaj Ahirwar also voted. Appealing to the people to vote as much as possible, he said that this time the people of the area will vote on the issues of unemployment, inflation and migration. Even though the BJP candidate is a Union Minister, he has not done any major work for the development of the area. “This time a wave of change is going on”, he commented.

Madhya Pradesh government minister and BJP leader Prahlad Singh Patel cast his vote at a polling booth in Narsinghpur. He said, “I appeal to the youth to exercise their franchise and play their role in nation building.”
