In a momentous turn of events, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two individuals, including the said mastermind, in connection with the 1st March attack at the Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru, located near Kolkata in West Bengal. As for the perpetrators, there were two, both of them known. Mussavir Hussain Shazib, the bomber who detonated the improvised explosive device (IED) in the cafe, was caught, along with Abdul Matheen Taha, the mastermind of the plan.
As well as the NIA press release reported, the suspects were related to Kolkata on the morning of April 12, where they hid under the fake rims. The mission that led to the rescue has been primarily achieved through close cooperation between the NIA, central intelligence agencies, the West Bengal, Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala police.
Mussavir Hussain Shazib is being blamed by law enforcement for designing the explosively-loaded improvised explosive device. In contrast, Abdul Matheen Taha is assigned as the main man behind the successful planning, execution, and, most importantly, escape from law enforcement authorities.
In particular, NIA said earlier that they are going to give up to 10 lakhs for information regarding apprehending the perpetrator involved in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast. The agency supported the confidentiality of informants’ identities’ by granting protection to their identities.
A CCTV image of the bomber, taken while placing the bag in the cafe, was released by the NIA. The individual in the image is depicted wearing a cap, black pants, and black shoes.
NIA urged people to be more helpful in the future and come forth with anything that can help the law enforcers catch the bomber.
Ministry of Home Affairs put the responsibility for the prosecution to the NIA on March 3, adding a team of NIA to the time of inspection of the blast site. The explosion happened at lunchtime when a restaurant in the busy district of Whitefield in Bengaluru banged up several people.
