On its second weekend, Crew got a pretty clear turnaround in the box office through a growth in numbers. The movie, which took flowers, opened to ₹5.27 crore on its tenth day, as per the latest news of the industry. This, in turn, the hit movie of this comedy with heist genre, has now advanced to ₹58.50 crore at the domestic box office.
Directed by Rajesh A Krishnan, the film hit theaters on March 29. Crew follows the journey of three air hostesses who, having gone unpaid for over six months, resort to smuggling gold to another country. However, their newfound joy is short-lived as unexpected twists unfold.
The prominent cast includes Kareena Kapoor as Jasmine Kohli, Tabu as Geeta Sethi and Kriti Sanon as Divya Rana is going to be a big hit. Before Crew was officially premiered, director Rajesh A Krishnan had taken time to clarify that the girls actually were good friends, and in those moments, they really acted like friends – Kareena Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Tabu, who were legitimately paling beyond the camera. He waved aside gossip of the ego clashes, “It had happened, and I was unaware of it if it had been.” Perhaps I was not the direct witness of egotism, but since my focus was on work, I didn’t observe any ego-play syndrome at all. Small talks weren’t of much interest to me; I found it useless to take part in them. They missed my romanticization, and I did not purposely flirt with any of them. I was not influenced by them either.
According to Rajesh A Krishnan’s statement, there seems to be a smooth cooperation among cast members on set which is a trait of wonderful relationships. Their ceremonious manner and industry made them just the right people to put on Crew’s destiny. Anyway, the movie got over the problems and everything good happened – the story was appealing, and again, performances took a step forward.
With Crew still in theaters and loved by crowds all over the country, it celebrates the pinnacle of the team’s hard work, which brings performance into great scenes. The overwhelming popularity of the movie carries within it a message of the efficacy of storytelling and the team spirit shown in casting the players and all those who worked in the making of the film.
