Vishnudeo Sai Government started their term in the last few months, and since then the Naxalites have been facing tough times against them. Aim was successful in the recent joint anti-Naxal operation carried out by the Greyhound and Chhattisgarh police, in which three Naxalites were killed. Superintendent of Police, Bijapur, Jitendra Yadav, while providing details of the encounter, stated that the clash took place in the jungles of Karri Guta near the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border. It is reported that three Naxalites have been killed in the exchange of fire so far.
The retrieved weapons consist of an LMG and a replica AK-47, reportedly seen in the area of the incident. It was continuous and is still happening in the sporting circuits under the jurisdiction of Usur Police. While the security forces undertake the crackdown on Naxalite activities in the region, they are doing so with the main aim of ensuring tranquility and orderliness.
Naxalite insurgency has constantly been on the government’s radar for quite some time. The government’s recent action in this regard is the administration’s stand against Naxalite menace and a promise to guarantee law and order. Mr Vishnudeo Sai, the Chief Minister, again pledged the government to fight simultaneously with Naxalites and to eradicate them from the territories they rule. The raid which was completed with the blend of Greyhound and Chhattisgarh Police is the manifestation of the same level of coordination and cooperation between the armed forces against the Naxal attacks.
The event reveals that the Naxalism menace still continues to be a painful reality for those living along the borderland areas separating Telangana and Chhattisgarh. In spite of the combined efforts of the security organizations, the violent groups still carry on using the comparatively remote and heavily forested entirely for their operations and attacks on innocent people’s lives as well as sabotaging the required development activities.
