Raipur: The second installment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana will be disbursed today into the accounts of 70 lakh women across the state. Department of Women and Child Development officials have nearly completed the necessary preparations for this distribution. Originally, the second installment was scheduled to be released on April 1, but the date was revised due to financial year changes. Consequently, the funds were not transferred to the accounts of women on the designated date.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Mahtari Vandan Yojana in the state on March 10. Under this scheme, in the form of the first installment, a payment of Rs. 636.44 crore was made into the accounts of 68.53 lakh women in Chhattisgarh. Through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, women in the state will receive a monthly transfer of Rs. 1,000 through the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) mechanism.
This initiative aims to provide financial assistance to women, acknowledging their vital role in the household and society. By empowering women economically, the government seeks to enhance their well-being and contribute to their socio-economic development. The timely disbursement of funds ensures that women can utilize the financial support effectively for their needs and the welfare of their families.
The Mahtari Vandan Yojana is a testament to the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and social welfare. By directly transferring funds into women’s accounts, the scheme promotes financial inclusion and empowers women to make independent financial decisions. Additionally, the scheme’s implementation underscores the government’s efforts to address the specific needs and challenges faced by women in the state.
Overall, the Mahtari Vandan Yojana represents a significant step towards gender equality and women’s empowerment in Chhattisgarh. It not only provides financial assistance but also symbolizes recognition and respect for the invaluable contributions of women to society. Through such initiatives, the government endeavors to create a more inclusive and equitable society where women can thrive and fulfill their potential.
