Bhopal: Under the Lok Sabha election campaign in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, the police have intensified actions against illicit liquor bootleggers. Senior officials are overseeing the crackdown, with various police stations in Zone 4 of the capital seizing a substantial amount of alcohol. During the operations, the police confiscated 415 liters of illicit liquor along with vehicles. Acting under the directives of Deputy Commissioner of Police Anjali Raghuwanshi, the police apprehended 64.5 liters of English liquor. Two vehicles used for transporting the alcohol were also seized.

Furthermore, Nishatpura Police Station discovered 841 quarters, totaling 151 liters and 380 milliliters of illicit liquor packed in plastic containers. Meanwhile, the Chhola Mandir Police seized 99 liters of country-made illicit liquor. Additionally, Bairagarh Police intercepted 63 liters of country-made illicit liquor. The combined value of the seized liquor and vehicles in these stations amounts to Rs. 9,77,000. For their diligent efforts in this operation, Zone 4 Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sundar Singh Kanesh, will commend the police personnel separately.

This concerted effort reflects the commitment of the Bhopal police to curb the menace of illicit liquor trade, especially during the electoral period. The substantial seizures underscore the challenges posed by bootlegging activities in the region.
