Bhopal: Preparations are going on for Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh. In this connection, a screening committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. This committee will examine the proposals sent to the Election Commission of India. Now if the department sends any proposal then it will have to explain why the proposal is necessary.
A screening committee has been formed to examine and make recommendations on the proposals of the departments to be sent to the Election Commission. The committee will have the Principal Secretary, General Administration and Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary or Secretary related to the departments submitting the proposal as members.
During the Code of Conduct, now no department will send its proposal directly to the Chief Electoral Officer or the Election Commission of India before the recommendation of the Screening Committee. The department will also have to explain in its proposal why this proposal is necessary. Why can’t it be stopped till the elections, the proposal sent to the Election Commission of India will be sent self-contained. Special consideration will be given to the possible time taken by the Election Commission of India to take a decision.
