Jabalpur: IG Anil Singh Kushwaha conducted a meeting with zone’s DIG and SP regarding Lok Sabha elections. Discussions included preparations for upcoming polls and expeditious resolution of pending crimes from previous elections. Additionally, directives were issued to promptly handle notices and warrants from the High Court, obtain DNA reports from FSL in rape cases, and present them in court. Instructions were given to take action against district offenders and criminals, especially in areas experiencing increased crime like Chhindwara and Pandhurna.

The meeting emphasized compliance with Election Commission guidelines and reviewed the availability of security forces for the elections. Instructions were given to ensure accommodation arrangements for central and state forces. It also directed to resolve pending cases within three days during the last Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections. Review of recent crime actions in all districts and directives to intensify campaigns against illegal activities such as illicit liquor, drug trafficking, gambling, and smuggling were discussed.

Criminal records were scrutinized for prompt action, and directives were given to take action against habitual offenders and those involved in scheduled caste/tribe crimes. Efforts were directed towards arresting fugitive suspects, announcing rewards, confiscating properties, and ensuring swift prosecution for serious crimes like murder, attempted murder, and rape cases where suspects remain at large.

Furthermore, monitoring and consideration for maximum punishment for criminals involved in robbery, theft, and loot were stressed. Special attention was given to expediting the resolution of pending cases against scheduled caste/tribe crimes and providing timely relief to victims. The meeting underscored the deployment of police teams to apprehend suspects and recover stolen property in cases of burglary, theft, and serious offenses, with a focus on imposing severe penalties.

The directives aimed to enhance law enforcement effectiveness and ensure swift justice delivery, particularly in addressing rising crimes and preparing for the upcoming elections.
