In a significant move, the Uttar Pradesh government took decisive action on Tuesday by removing Renuka Mishra, the chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Board (PRB), for her negligence in handling the police recruitment examinations conducted on February 17 and 18. Renuka Mishra, a 1990 batch IPS officer, has been placed in awaiting posting status, while DG Vigilance Rajiv Krishna has been appointed as the new chairman.
The government’s decision to annul the police constable recruitment process on February 24, affecting nearly five million aspirants, came in response to allegations of question paper leaks and other irregularities raised by job seekers. A retest has been ordered to be conducted within the next six months.
Furthermore, the government has directed the Recruitment Board to take pre-emptive legal action, including filing an FIR for any lapses. The case will be investigated by the Special Task Force (STF), and strict actions will be taken against individuals or institutions found culpable.
Under a zero-tolerance policy, the Yogi government has vowed to take stringent measures against those involved in the constable recruitment examination paper leak. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated in Gorakhpur that individuals jeopardizing the state’s youth’s future will face lifelong imprisonment, and their parents’ and grandparents’ properties will be confiscated.
On February 25, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that tampering with the future of the youth is a national sin. He pledged to teach a lesson that will be remembered for a lifetime, setting an example for future actions against those involved.
He issued an open warning to those attempting to compromise the sanctity of competitive exams, asserting the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards individuals playing with the future of the youth. The state government is committed to taking stern action against those who engage in the leakage of competitive exam question papers.
