New Delhi: The Delhi government’s finance minister Atishi has reached the Assembly on Monday to present the Budget for the financial year 2024-25. As per reports, the AAP government’s Budget will have “Ram Rajya” as its theme. The Budget Session of the Delhi Assembly began on February 15 and has been extended till March 8. It is likely to be the longest assembly session under the AAP government’s regime, according to officials.

Delhi Finance Minister Atishi reached the Assembly to present Delhi Budget 2024 and presented her first budget as Finance Minister. Before presenting the budget, Finance Minister Atishi took blessings from Manish Sisodia’s mother and got tilak applied by his wife.
While presenting the budget for the first time, Finance Minister Atishi tries to woo the residents of the capital by emphasizing a clean, beautiful and modern Delhi in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and assembly elections to be held early next year.
With Lok Sabha elections set to be held this year, the Arvind Kejriwal-led government is likely to make some major announcements in the Budget. The Budget is likely to focus on education, health, power and roads among others.
1,800 unauthorised colonies are there in Delhi. 30% of the city’s population lives in those colonies. Delhi government is expected to allocate funds for boosting road network, water pipeline and sewage network in such colonies.
