Lucknow: The Modi government has bestowed a significant gift upon sugarcane farmers in the country by deciding to increase the purchase price of sugarcane. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the rise in Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) for sugarcane for the 2024-25 season.

CM Yogi took to the social media platform ‘X’ to convey that the government is determined to double the income of farmer brethren, terming it a commitment of the double engine government. He extended his thanks to the Prime Minister, acknowledging the crucial decision taken for the well-being of farmers under the ‘Krishak Kalyan’ initiative.

It is worth noting that under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Cabinet has decided to increase the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) for sugarcane by eight percent, setting it at Rs. 340 per quintal for the 2024-25 season. Union Minister Anurag Thakur explained that this decision, ensuring a fair price for sugarcane to farmers through sugar mills, has been made for the upcoming season from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.

The government’s commitment to enhancing farmers’ income is evident in this strategic decision, marking a positive impact on the agricultural sector.
