A comprehensive inspection of farmer service centers across the state was conducted by the Agriculture Department on Thursday. Vaibhav Galaria, the Principal Secretary for Agriculture and Horticulture, highlighted the significance of timely operations, transparency, and the department’s commitment to benefit farmers through its schemes.

To review progress and ensure effective monitoring, district officials were appointed for a sudden inspection of agriculture offices and service centers throughout the state. Galaria disclosed that 95 farmer service centers were diligently examined, with 80 being operational and 15 inactive. Additionally, 12 staff members were found absent during the inspections.

During the inspections, directives were issued to staff members, emphasizing the need to inform visiting farmers about departmental schemes and facilities provided. Notices were issued to 17 employees for absenteeism and negligence in their duties.

District officials instructed employees to educate farmers about departmental schemes and conduct timely physical verification of pending applications under the DBT Scheme. They emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness in farmer service centers and ensuring the proper upkeep of registers.
