Damoh: A case of food poisoning has surfaced in an Anganwadi in Mudari village, Damoh district, Madhya Pradesh. After consuming Kadhi-Chawal, around a dozen children fell ill, complaining of vomiting and diarrhea. Concerned family members rushed them to the district hospital, where their treatment commenced. Following the news, officials from the Women and Child Development Department visited, overseeing the medical care of the affected children.

Pancham Singh, the father of 4-year-old Lokendra, shared that about 10-12 children attended the Anganwadi daily. The Anganwadi worker, Sunita Jain, initially served Khichdi and later provided Kadhi-Chawal to the children. Shortly after consuming the meal, the children began experiencing stomach pain and started vomiting with diarrhea.

Learning about the children’s illness, their parents promptly took them to the hospital. Upon receiving news of the sick children, Women and Child Development Officer Sanjeev Mishra and other staff members rushed to the hospital. They are overseeing the medical treatment of the children, and currently, their condition is reported to be stable.

Officer Mishra confirmed that the incident is related to food poisoning. A team has been dispatched to the location for an investigation, and a thorough examination of the food will be conducted. If any negligence or fault is found, appropriate action will be taken against the responsible party. The situation is being closely monitored to ensure the well-being of the affected children and to prevent further occurrences of food poisoning.
