In the past 15 days, a leopard has been creating havoc in the city of Indore, particularly in the NanoD village, showcasing its presence now and then. On Tuesday morning, the leopard once again attacked domestic animals in the NanoD village, prompting the Forest Department to initiate another search operation. However, the department is facing a shortage of resources, and they have now purchased torches to aid in the search.
Earlier, the Forest Department had set up night vision cameras and traps in NanoD village 15 days ago after the leopard had disrupted their peaceful sleep. However, this morning, the leopard once again stirred the Forest Department from its slumber. The department is now facing a shortage of resources, and the purchase of torches comes as a response to this challenge. Late at night, the department had not yet procured the long-range torches required for the operation.
15 days ago, in NanoD, the Forest Department had installed traps and cameras with night vision to catch the leopard, but the department had fallen into a peaceful slumber. Now, the resources seem to be running low. DFO Mahendra Singh Solanki of the Forest Department is asserting the urgency to catch the leopard. Meanwhile, a Wild Expert team has been dispatched to catch the leopard, conducting searches in NanoD village during the night.
It’s important to note that in the past year, the record of purchasing 108,000 metric tons of rice in the state has been broken. In the ongoing marketing year, until January 29, 134,000 metric tons of rice have been purchased, with payments totaling Rs 28,104 crores. This year, the state is ensuring the implementation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantee by purchasing rice from farmers at the rate of 21 quintals per acre. The procurement of rice at the support price and custom milling is ongoing simultaneously in the state.
