Mumbai: Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s aerial action film had a good start on Thursday and rose even higher on the Republic Day holiday on Friday. However, the Siddharth Anand directorial recorded a decline on Saturday with collection of ₹27.6 crore

Fighter had opened at ₹24.60 crore and collected ₹41.2 crore as per film trade analyst Taran Adarsh. On Saturday, it recorded around 29 percent occupancy. The film now stands at ₹93.40 crore at the domestic box office after three days of its release.

Taran Adarsh tweeted on Sunday, “#Fighter packs a strong total on Day 3 [Sat] post the national holiday [#RepublicDay]… Major centres – dominated by multiplexes – continue to dominate, adding weight to its biz… Thu 24.60 cr, Fri 41.20 cr, Sat 27.60 cr. Total: ₹ 93.40 cr. #India biz. #Boxoffice.”

He further added, “#Fighter needs to go past Sat numbers on the decisive Sun, the final day of *extended weekend*… This will be possible if mass pockets witness a spike, complimenting the biz from urban centres.”

Fighter also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi. It marks director Siddharth Anand’s return exactly a year after his last blockbuster, Pathaan. Just like the Shah Rukh Khan film, Fighter too has the lead cast flaunting their chiseled physiques on screens. Deepika had recently spoken about how they as actors need to have faith that the filmmaker will convey the material with the appropriate sensibility and style.

Meanwhile, HanuMan is still attracting the audience at the theatres even after two weeks in the theatres. After a decent start of Rs 4 crore at the box office, the film experienced a major surge in box office numbers due to positive word of mouth. Even with the release of Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter on January 25, HanuMan managed to earn Rs 6.25 crore on Saturday. The Teja Sajja-led film collected Rs 8 crore on Republic Day. The overall collection in India has now reached Rs 164.75 crore. HanuMan makers revealed that the film has minted Rs 250 crore worldwide. The film had an overall 49.76 percent Telugu occupancy on Saturday.

HanuMan clashed with Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram. Helmed by Trivikram, Guntur Kaaram has collected Rs 121 crore in India so far. During the Sankranti week, five films clashed at the box-office–HanuMan, Guntur Kaaram, Merry Christmas, Ayalaan and Captain Miller. HanuMan emerged as a clear winner and is still holding strong.
