Jaipur: Vasudev Devnani, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, expressed dissatisfaction over development works in Ajmer city, stating that negligence in basic facilities will not be tolerated. He emphasized that action will be taken against negligent officials, specifically addressing issues in the Smart City and sewage plans. Devnani conducted a meeting with officers on Sunday, urging a thorough investigation into complaints related to substandard work and violations of rules in these projects.

He highlighted the deteriorating condition of the Vivekananda Smarak, constructed at a significant cost, and stressed the need for its proper maintenance. Devnani also directed swift improvements beneath the elevated road and on both sides of the road within seven days. The Speaker held a meeting at the Circuit House on Sunday with officials from the Smart City, ADA, RSRDC, and PWD departments.

Devnani addressed officials of the ADA, expressing concern over the delayed initiation of the three-dimensional show on KEM Station Road and the closure of the musical fountain at Ana Sagar Lake. He urged the prompt commencement of these activities and emphasized the need for effective solid waste management, stressing the urgency of commencing these tasks.

Regarding Smart City projects, he reviewed the quality of bricks and reinforcement in various works and emphasized the continuous monitoring of their quality. He also examined the progress reports of projects such as the pediatric block, multi-level parking, isolation hospital, construction of PG Girls’ Hostel, and isolation hospital. Devnani instructed officials to ensure the quality of these projects and stated that strict action will be taken against those responsible for substandard construction.

The Speaker addressed the damaged road below the elevated road and discussed the matter with RSRDC officials. He attributed daily public inconvenience to the negligence in the work. Devnani assured that improvements in the situation would be made in the next seven days.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the sewage situation in Ajmer city, Devnani highlighted that sewage had not been laid according to the prescribed rules and plan. Overflowing sewage has been observed in several places, and hundreds of connections are yet to be provided. He directed officials to conduct a thorough inspection of these projects to ensure compliance with standards. The Speaker emphasized the need for effective sewage management and instructed officials to rectify the ongoing issues promptly.
