Jaipur: The approval for the construction of 35 roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has been granted to the state. The Ministry of Rural Development of the Government of India approved this on Friday. Under PMGSY-III, approval has been received to build 35 roads covering a distance of 394.65 km in the state, with an estimated cost of ₹251.38 crore. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister for Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for this approval. She mentioned that approval had not been obtained for the past two years. Still, due to the special efforts of the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the approval was finally received.
The approved roads will be constructed in the Deedwana–Kuchaman, Jhunjhunu, and Nagaur districts. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari emphasized that the construction of roads in rural areas of the state would strengthen the connectivity between villages and cities. This improvement in connectivity is expected to facilitate the swift transportation of rural products to urban areas, thereby enhancing the rural economy.
