Anticipation builds in Rajasthan as the Bhajan Lal government readies for its first legislative session, potentially commencing on January 19. Prior to this crucial session, legislators and ministers eagerly await the allocation of their designated flats and bungalows.

Recently, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Pushpendra Singh Bali, established a Housing Allocation Committee, poised to soon decide on residential allotments. Notably, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has not vacated the Chief Minister’s residence at 8, Civil Lines, as of now. Following the observance of the Malmas period, he is expected to soon shift to Bungalow No. 58. Gehlot had previously claimed residence in Bungalow No. 58 during his tenure as the Chief Minister.

It is worth mentioning that Gehlot had resided in this bungalow even during his time in the opposition. This particular bungalow is situated opposite Vasundhara Raje’s residence. Meanwhile, the current Chief Minister, Bhajan Lal Sharma, currently resides in temporary accommodation on JLN Marg.

As the political landscape in Rajasthan evolves, the allocation of residences to legislators and ministers takes center stage. The decisions made by the Housing Allocation Committee will significantly influence the living arrangements of key political figures. The dynamics of who resides where, especially considering the history of Ashok Gehlot’s choice of residence, adds an intriguing dimension to the unfolding political narrative in the state. As the state gears up for the legislative session, the choices made in residence allocations are likely to have broader implications, reflecting the political nuances within the Bhajan Lal government.
