In its ninth day at the box office, Shah Rukh Khan’s film “Dunki” experiences a decline in earnings, recording ₹7.25 crore on its second Friday, according to early estimates. Despite the dip, industry analysts anticipate an upswing in the film’s performance in the coming days. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki has garnered a total of approximately ₹167.47 crore.

The film’s performance, as reported by an industry tracker, indicates an overall occupancy rate of 20.74 percent on its ninth day since release. Notably, cities like Bengaluru and Chennai witnessed the highest occupancies, particularly during evening and night shows.

Internationally, Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki has crossed the ₹320 crore mark at the box office. Red Chillies Entertainment, the film’s backing studio, shared the exciting news on Friday, revealing a worldwide gross box office collection of ₹323.77 crore.

Dunki, a film touted to explore themes of friendship, borders, nostalgia, and love, features an ensemble cast including Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover. The storyline follows the journey of four friends—Manu, Sukhi, Buggu, and Balli—as they aspire to settle in London for a better life. However, their pursuit unfolds into an arduous yet life-changing adventure.

Rajkumar Hirani helms Dunki, co-written by Abhijaat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon. The film is jointly presented by JIO Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films.

Despite the temporary setback in box office numbers, Dunki’s narrative and international success suggest a resilient appeal, promising an enduring run in the theatres as audiences connect with its compelling storyline and stellar performances. The film’s journey reflects not just onscreen but in the global reception it receives, solidifying its position as a noteworthy cinematic endeavor.
