Excitement is palpable in Ayodhya, the holy city on the Saryu River, as it readies for a momentous occasion: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on December 30th. Preparations are in full swing, transforming the historic temple town into a vibrant tapestry of festivity and anticipation.

Everywhere you look, color bursts forth. Streets decked with marigolds and fragrant jasmine mingle with vibrant murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana, the epic tale that binds Ayodhya’s soul. Ornate, thematic columns rise like sentinels at key intersections, each one a testament to the city’s rich cultural heritage. Even the air seems to hum with a devotional energy, carrying the echo of temple prayers and traditional hymns.

Gaurav Dayal said about 1.5 lakh people are expected to assemble for the rally that will last nearly an hour, after which Modi will depart from Ayodhya.

The administration has put up temporary wooden barricades on both sides of the recently redeveloped Ram Path, and other roads that will fall on his route on the way to the railway station from the airport.

Modi is expected to hold a roadshow on a stretch between the airport and the railway station and acknowledge the greetings of the people of Ayodhya.

Security, of course, forms the invisible backbone of this grand preparation. Multi-layered arrangements are in place, with personnel from various agencies ensuring the Prime Minister’s safety and the smooth flow of the event. Yet, this vigilance blends seamlessly with the joyful spirit of the occasion, creating a unique atmosphere of both reverence and exuberance.

For Ayodhya, this visit holds immense significance. The Prime Minister’s presence marks the culmination of years of dedication and development efforts aimed at transforming the city into a world-class pilgrimage destination. He is scheduled to inaugurate the newly redeveloped Ayodhya railway station, a symbol of improved connectivity, and the much-anticipated new airport, opening doors to further progress.

But perhaps the most eagerly awaited moment is the public rally planned near the airport. Thousands of devotees are expected to gather, eager to hear the Prime Minister speak and be part of this historic occasion. It will be a chance for Ayodhya to showcase its vibrant spirit, its unwavering faith, and its aspirations for the future.
