Orissa: The Bhubaneswar municipal corporation has added 3 more drive-in vaccination centres to its existing one to vaccinate people aged over 45 who did not receive their 2nd dose of the vaccine. “After starting vaccination at the first drive-in centre, we got a positive response from the public. So today we added three more centres and have a plan for some more in the coming days”, said the commissioner of BMC, Prem Chandra Chaudhary.

The number of slots for the vaccination drive is limited for now but soon it will be expanded, assured Chaudhary. He said, “For now, we have restricted the number of slots and it can be booked only by registering through the centralized portal only, we don’t have any on the spot registration at present. The crowd management and some issues related to the vaccine supply are also a reason for the restricted number of vaccine slots”.

Meanwhile, Odisha has shown a positive recovery rate of the virus in a day. A total of 9706 recoveries were reported out of the total 9793 positive cases reported in the state. 18 deaths have also been confirmed in the last 24 hours. Hopefully, with such vaccination initiatives, the situation will come under control soon.
