Raipur: The two-phase voting for the 2023 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly elections has concluded, covering 90 seats. The first phase on November 7 included 20 seats, followed by the second phase on November 17 with 70 seats. The fate of candidates who entered the electoral arena will be decided on December 3, unveiling which party will form the government in the state.

The anticipation for this day is palpable, with heightened political rhetoric surrounding the electoral process. Sushil Anand Shukla, the head of the Public Relations Department of the Chhattisgarh Congress Committee, has taken a dig at the BJP’s counting strategy. He remarked that whether it’s Mansukh Mandaviya or Amit Shah coming to Chhattisgarh, the government will inevitably belong to the Congress.

Shukla also commented on the regularization of employees, stating that decisions will be made in the interest of those who remain after assessing resources and the budget. He emphasized that during the BJP’s 15-year rule, injustices and exploitation of employees occurred, while under the Congress government, there were salary increments and regularizations for many.

Regarding the BJP’s preparation for the elections, Shukla criticized their counting strategy, alleging that manipulating the counting process has become a characteristic of the BJP. He pointed out an incident in Madhya Pradesh where a ballot paper was allegedly opened by a collector. Shukla asserted that the BJP, facing likely defeat, is scripting excuses in advance, claiming that irregularities occurred during the counting.

The Congress has been targeting the BJP on the issue of paddy prices. Shukla questioned the BJP’s governance, highlighting the disparity in rice prices, stating that while Chhattisgarh’s BJP government set the paddy price at 3100 during elections, other states, like Madhya Pradesh, offer only 1500. He criticized the BJP’s promises, such as providing cylinders to the poor for 500 in Chhattisgarh, calling it an injustice to the rest of the country’s poor.

In essence, Shukla portrayed the BJP’s electoral promises as attempts to deceive the public, emphasizing the need for a fair distribution of benefits to all citizens. The political atmosphere in Chhattisgarh remains charged as the countdown to the election results begins.
