Raipur: Ahead of the December 3rd polling in Chhattisgarh, BJP spokesperson Shreechand Sundarani expressed confidence that this time the BJP would form the government. Sundarani highlighted the support from farmers, laborers, and women for the BJP. Observing the feedback from candidates, he indicated that the departure of Congress seems imminent after the elections.

Sundarani addressed concerns about the lower turnout of farmers selling paddy in mandis, stating that farmers are not bringing paddy to the mandis. He emphasized that the BJP has made a decision to purchase paddy at a rate of Rs. 3100 per quintal. Furthermore, the BJP has committed to providing a lump sum amount to farmers, along with a bonus for two years. He suggested that farmers believe they will benefit if the BJP comes to power, which might explain the reduced influx of paddy to the mandis.

In the context of the upcoming elections, Sundarani underscored the economic policies and initiatives of the BJP aimed at farmers’ welfare. The assurance of a competitive procurement rate and additional benefits for farmers appears to have garnered positive responses. He argued that the farmers perceive the BJP government as a potential source of gain, leading to their support.

As the political landscape in Chhattisgarh evolves in the run-up to the elections, Sundarani’s statements shed light on the BJP’s strategic approach and its appeal to different sections of the electorate, particularly emphasizing the party’s commitment to addressing the concerns and interests of farmers in the region. The unfolding developments and feedback from voters suggest a keenly contested electoral battle, with the prospect of significant changes on the political horizon.
