Jaipur: During the Rajasthan Assembly elections a remarkable and peaceful voter turnout was witnessed across the 19 constituencies, in the Jaipur district. The election saw a participation rate of over 75.91%, making it the highest voter turnout ever recorded in the Jaipur district during Assembly elections. According to Prakash Rajpurohit, the District Election Officer, a total of 3,834,407 voters cast their votes using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), with 7,500 voters opting for home voting and 26,293 voters choosing postal ballots. As a result, Jaipur district witnessed a turnout of more than 3.867 million voters.
The elections took place on November 25. Saw participation from a diverse range of voters. Among them were 2,023,140 male voters, 1,811,225 female voters and 42 transgender voters who used EVMs to exercise their rights. This translates to a participation rate of 76.08% for voters 74.35% for female voters and 56.58% for transgender voters. The enthusiasm for voting was apparent across all demographics and age groups as people showed interest in participating in the process.
Prakash Rajpurohit specifically highlighted the enthusiasm observed in constituencies like Kotputli, with a turnout of about 77.38%, Viratnagar with around76.49% Shahpura with a rate of about84.81%, Chomu, approximately84.41% Phulera at 78.36%, Dudu at 79.30%, Jhotwara at 72.21%, Amer at78.20%, and Jamwaramgarh at77.18%.
Furthermore, the voter turnout, in places like Hawamahal was quite impressive at 76.74%. Similarly, Vidhyadhar Nagar witnessed a turnout of 73.16% while Civil Lines saw 70.66% participation, and Kishanpol had a rate of 77.36%.
These high levels of voter participation, in these constituencies demonstrate the strong civic involvement and the dedication of the public to influence the scenario through their votes.
