Bhopal: The rise, in Dengue cases in Madhya Pradesh, including the capital city of Bhopal, Gwalior and Indore, has become a cause for concern. The efforts made by the Health Department to control the spread of Dengue infections seem to be ineffective. In Bhopal, the total number of reported Dengue cases has reached 790, while Gwalior has witnessed a surge with 1058 cases and 25 new cases being reported recently. 

This situation has resulted in increased health alerts. Prompted actions such as testing 82 samples at Jayarogya and district hospitals. Out of these tests 25 individuals have tested positive for Dengue. Among those affected 11 are from Gwalior district while the remaining 14 are from districts.

The symptoms of Dengue can vary from mild to severe. Typically appears four to seven days after infection. Common symptoms include headaches, muscle and joint pain, nausea, eye pain, skin rash and swollen glands. Severe cases can lead to Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever which is characterised by pain, vomiting, bleeding from the nose or gums, blood in urine as well and difficulty breathing.

As the number of Dengue cases continues to rise in this area, health authorities are facing difficulties, in controlling this outbreak. The increasing numbers highlight the significance of awareness and preventive measures.

To ensure safety, it is recommended that individuals follow measures such, as keeping their surroundings clean, preventing the accumulation of stagnant water in and, around their homes, using mosquito repellents and wearing clothing with long sleeves.

Additionally, the Health Department is likely to intensify efforts to investigate and address the factors contributing to the surge in Dengue cases, ensuring prompt medical attention and appropriate preventive measures are taken to curb the spread of the disease in Madhya Pradesh.
