Ludhiana: In the industrial city of Ludhiana, some fraudsters intricately deceived an individual, first altering his ATM card during a conversation and later withdrawing Rs 80,000 from his account. The victim, Karnail Singh, a resident of Bhai Himmat Singh Nagar in Duggari, narrated the incident, revealing that he went to the ATM in Duggari to withdraw money from his State Bank of India (SBI) account.

While he was at the ATM, four unknown individuals suddenly appeared and threatened him, creating a situation to withdraw money. They managed to change his ATM card among the cards already present and left the scene after withdrawing money. When Karnail Singh checked his ATM card later, he found a different name written on it, exposing the substitution.

Karnail Singh stated that by the time he reached the bank to block his ATM card, transactions totaling Rs 79,987 had already been withdrawn through various transactions. Subsequently, the investigating officer, Sukhdev Raj, confirmed that the police have initiated an inquiry into the case based on Karnail Singh’s complaint against the unknown individuals involved in the incident.
