Jaipur: The home voting process for the 2023 Rajasthan elections has commenced today. Following the Election Commission’s guidelines, citizens aged 80 and above, as well as over 40% with special needs, will cast their votes from home for the first time. The first phase of home voting has started across the entire state this Tuesday.
Notably, the Baytu constituency in Rajasthan, has the highest number of voters for home voting, with 1401 voters, followed by 855 voters from Vallabhnagar, 819 from Dungarpur, 652 from Malviya Nagar, 666 from Civil Lines, and 553 from Shahpura constituency.
Conversely, the Karauli constituency has the fewest voters for home voting, with only 15, followed by 65 from Pipalda, 81 from Hindoli, and 109 from Tijara. All these voters have applied for home voting. It’s worth mentioning that across the state, a total of 62,927 eligible voters have applied for this facility as an alternative option. In the state, 51,033 voters aged 80 and above, and 11,894 voters under the special needs category, will cast their votes through this facility.
The home voting initiative aims to make the electoral process more accessible and inclusive, ensuring that every eligible citizen has the opportunity to participate in the democratic process.
