Vidisha: Rahul Gandhi addressed a public gathering in Vidisha, ahead of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections scheduled for November 17. He asserted that a Congress wave is imminent, predicting the party to secure around 150 seats. Accusing the BJP of manipulating the previous elections, Gandhi alleged that Modi, Shivraj Singh, and Amit Shah orchestrated the defection of MLAs to steal the elected government. Highlighting unfulfilled promises, he emphasized the failure to deliver on loan waivers for farmers and criticized the BJP for corruption.

Gandhi called upon the youth to inquire about their achievements under the BJP government, claiming their response would be dismal. He challenged Modi’s claims of industrial development, stating that no evidence of the promised factories could be seen.

Gandhi alleged misappropriation of funds, claiming that despite allocating 1,700 crores for Vidisha’s development, the money didn’t reach the intended beneficiaries. He accused BJP ministers of corruption, asserting that Congress would bring justice and fulfill promises like loan waivers for farmers.

The Congress leader drew attention to successful initiatives in Chhattisgarh, citing the adequate pricing of paddy, contrasting it with the Modi government’s unfulfilled assurances. Gandhi concluded by stating that the Congress aims to empower the poor, while the BJP’s motives are centered around benefitting industrialists like Adani. He criticized Modi for favoring billionaires and claimed that Congress focuses on uplifting farmers, laborers, and small business owners. In contrast to the BJP’s pro-elite stance, Gandhi pledged that a Congress government would prioritize the welfare of the common people.
