Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is actively engaged in a sustained political campaign. Today, he is addressing election rallies in four assembly constituencies. CM Baghel took aim at the Prime Minister, accusing him of spreading falsehoods and not fulfilling his promises.

Prime Minister Modi claimed that Congress and development do not align with Chhattisgarh’s progress. However, CM Baghel refuted these assertions, emphasizing that the state’s economic improvements do not reflect the reality. He pointed out that 74% of the purchases of minor forest produce are made in Chhattisgarh, which significantly contributes to the state’s economy, but this fact is often overlooked.

Baghel emphasized the stark contrast between his development earnings and those of major corporations like Adani. He argued that while the PM made various commitments, he failed to deliver on many of them. Baghel criticized the recurring trend of unfulfilled promises and the proliferation of falsehoods during every election.

Responding to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) aggressive questioning of his leadership, particularly from the BJP’s national leadership, CM Baghel remarked that the BJP is anxious because the Congress is in power. As the Chief Minister, he is leading the council of ministers, and he believes that the farmers are with him, which is why he has their support.

Furthermore, Baghel called for a caste-based census, emphasizing that if the Prime Minister represents the marginalized communities, he should not be averse to the idea. The Chief Minister reiterated that he, too, should not be exempt from a caste-based census. His demand for this census aligns with the broader call for better representation of various communities in governance and policymaking.

As the political landscape in Chhattisgarh becomes more heated, Bhupesh Baghel’s speeches and comments reflect the ongoing political battles and the emphasis on addressing the concerns of different sections of society. The demand for a caste-based census is part of a broader discussion about social and political inclusion, a significant and evolving topic in Indian politics.
