Katni: In Madhya Pradesh, the police are closely monitoring illegal activities in anticipation of the upcoming state legislative assembly elections. In this context, a significant police operation took place in the Katni district. The police arrested two individuals who were attempting to transport a large quantity of marijuana concealed within a container. The suspects are currently being questioned regarding their involvement in the marijuana trade.

The incident unfolded after the NKJ police station received information that near the Sarpanch Dhaba, there was a suspicious container parked in an isolated area. Acting on this tip, a police team rushed to the scene. However, upon spotting the police, the container’s driver and operator attempted to flee but were eventually apprehended. The individuals identified themselves as Rajesh Jayaswal from Rewa and Deepu, also known as Sandeep Yadav, from Satna.

A search of the container revealed 13 bags filled with a substantial quantity of marijuana concealed in a hidden chamber. The police estimate the value of the seized illegal substance to be around 1 crore and 3 lakh Indian Rupees. Presently, the suspects are being questioned under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, a law designed to address drug-related offenses.

This incident underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to curb illegal drug trafficking, particularly in the run-up to the state elections.
