Yamunapur: The newly constructed bridge, inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday witnessed crack just two days after its inauguration. The bridge was built at a cost of Rs 63 crore on the Tamsa river in the Yamunapar area of ​​Prayagraj. 

“The collapse of the bridge inaugurated by the Chief Minister in Prayagraj within 10 hours is a serious matter, while the time of Kumbh Mela is approaching. How can strong bridges be built on the weak pillars of corruption”, wrote SP chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has he targeted the government.

The bridge was built to connect tehsil Bara, Meja and Koraon tehsil on the border of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh with Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister had inaugurated it on Monday itself. Within 10 hours of being commissioned, something went wrong. Due to the complaint of crack developing in the middle of the bridge, the traffic on it has been stopped for the time being. Orders have been given to investigate this. 

This bridge on the Tons river in Nari Bari village was constructed a month ago at a cost of Rs 63 crore. The foundation stone for it was laid by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya two and a half years ago. The bridge was constructed by the Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation to facilitate the movement of people from about 200 villages in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. It will also provide convenience to many villages in Bara, Naribari, Kheri, Lediyari, and Koraon.

Meanwhile, there is a problem with the Pachdevra ROB near Mirzapur-Prayagraj Highway in Yamunapar. There is a gap in the jointer and the approach road has caved in at many places. The cost of the ROB is approximately Rs 42 crore. The condition of the Dighia ROB is also similar. It was built at a cost of approximately Rs 41 crore and there are huge potholes in the approach road.
