Bhopal: Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) has taken a step in Madhya Pradesh by deciding to contest the Assembly elections following the lead of Akhilesh Yadavs Samajwadi Party. JD(U) has recently announced its list of candidates for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections. The first five candidates put forward by JD(U) are as follows;
1. Pichhaur- Chandrapal Yadav
2. Rajnagar- Ramkunwar Rekwar
3. Vijayraghav- Shivanarayan Soni
4. Thandla- Tol Singh Bhuria
5. Petlawad- Rameshwar Singhvar
JD(U) had reportedly attempted to negotiate a seat-sharing agreement with the Congress. Unfortunately, they could not reach a consensus. Consequently, JD(U) made the decision to independently contest the elections in Madhya Pradesh instead. It is anticipated that JD(U) will contest 15 seats in Madhya Pradesh, and their initial list of candidates was released on Tuesday.
This development comes after Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party faced a disagreement with the Congress in Madhya Pradesh. The SP had requested six seats from the Congress. Their request was denied, leading Akhilesh Yadav to confront and challenge the Congress directly. Now Nitish Kumars JD(U) appears to be sending a message to the Congress by fielding their candidates in MP.
As the Assembly elections approach in Madhya Pradesh, it is interesting to observe the impact of the participation of JD(U) and SP on the overall political scenario in the state. JD(U) is making efforts to establish its presence in MP, and their choice to contest elections independently may have consequences for the dynamics within the state.
