Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has once again intensified his criticism of the BJP, this time focusing on allegations of the party favouring business tycoon Gautam Adani with the state’s assets. The Chief Minister asserted that the BJP is inclined to hand over Chhattisgarh’s assets to the business magnate Gautam Adani. He emphasized that when the BJP was in the opposition, they would promptly release their party manifesto, but so far, they haven’t disclosed any plans or commitments to the public. Baghel portrayed the BJP’s statements as mere distractions.

In a critique of BJP leaders’ addresses and speeches, Baghel likened them to street corner orators, emphasizing that their sole intent appears to be to hand over the state’s assets to Adani. This public declaration underscores Baghel’s concerns about potential disinvestment or privatization of state assets to corporate entities.

The Chief Minister also expressed deep sorrow and shock over the killing of Adivasi leader Birju Taram in Mohla-Manpur. He described the incident as intolerable and painful.

Baghel further stated that the anguish his family is enduring is shared by all the residents of Chhattisgarh, expressing his hope for peace for Birju Taram’s soul. He urged the need to collectively confront violence and preserve the state’s integrity.

He highlighted the necessity to uphold political values and not let violence triumph. Baghel emphasized the resilience and determination of the people of Chhattisgarh in the face of adversity, stating that even after the Jheeram incident, they have remained steadfast and continue to fight for their rights.

In the context of the tragic incident in Mohla-Manpur, Baghel revealed that he has held discussions with the Chief Secretary and the Director-General of Police and has requested appropriate action.

The killing of Adivasi leader Birju Taram is an unbearable loss, and his family’s grief resonates with all the people of Chhattisgarh. Baghel’s message reflects his commitment to seeking justice and addressing the issues affecting the state’s residents, even in the face of challenges and adversity. It also underscores the importance of political accountability and ethical governance.
