Faridabad: Faridabad law enforcement authorities have successfully apprehended four wanted criminals, all implicated in two separate attempted murder cases. In a significant breakthrough, the police have also seized a cache of firearms and ammunition in connection with their arrests, including five pistols, a ‘katta,’ a rifle, and 15 cartridges.

This operation was executed by a dedicated team from the Sector 65 crime unit, who managed to track down and detain the suspects in Palwal during a late-night operation on Wednesday. Subsequently, the city court has remanded the apprehended individuals to three days of police custody. The arrested suspects have been identified as Sonu, Sumit (also known as Kallu), Lokesh, all residents of Mujheri village, and Manoj (alias Dholu) hailing from Neemka village.

Faridabad’s Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for crime, Hemender Kumar Meena, shed light on the criminal activities that led to their arrests. According to DCP Meena, “Sonu and his associates opened fire on Bhupender and his associates at the Ballabgarh bus stand when the latter refused to provide them with their due share.” In addition to this incident, Sonu, Manoj, Lokesh, and Sumit were also implicated in an attempted murder case in Nawada village. Six other suspects had already been taken into custody in connection with these two cases.

The successful apprehension of these wanted criminals is a testament to the diligent efforts of the Faridabad police in ensuring public safety and bringing those involved in criminal activities to justice.
