Raipur: Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel, is scheduled to visit Delhi tomorrow afternoon. This visit precedes a gathering of the Central Election Committee, where the Congress party will finalize the names of their candidates for the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections. It is expected that they will announce candidates for the phase of elections covering 20 constituencies.
On Sunday, senior leaders from the Congress party convened for a meeting of the Central Election Committee. During this meeting, a list containing 64 constituencies was presented. After discussions within both the state Election Committee and Screening Committee, this proposal will now be submitted to the Central Election Committee for consideration.
As Rajasthan becomes a battleground in the Assembly elections, political parties are meticulously selecting their candidates for each constituency. Given that these elections will take place in phases, candidate selection holds importance in shaping the electoral landscape.
The Central Election Committee meeting is expected to be attended by Congress leaders such as Kumar Selja, Bhupesh Baghel, Deepak Baij, and Deputy Chief Minister TS Singhdev, among others. Similarly, Ajay Maken chaired the Screening Committee meeting.
The Congress party’s success in the Assembly relies heavily on its strategy and candidate selection in Chhattisgarh. The upcoming Chhattisgarh Assembly elections hold significance as they will greatly impact the landscape of the state.
