Patan: In anticipation of the upcoming 2023 assembly elections, the Chhattisgarh government has embarked on an outreach initiative called the ‘Bharosa Yatra.’ This initiative aims to connect with the state’s people, inform them about the achievements of the five-year Congress government tenure, and strengthen the party’s rapport with the electorate.

The ‘Bharosa Yatra’ commenced with meetings, engaging with youth, and hosting women’s conferences. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who launched the campaign from his assembly constituency, Patan, led the way by participating in a bullet bike rally.

The ‘Bharosa Yatra’ spans all 90 state assembly constituencies, serving as a pre-election outreach effort before the code of conduct is enforced. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s journey began in Selud village, where he encouraged the youth and set an energetic tone for the campaign.

During the 52-kilometre rally, which passed through various villages, including Gadadih, Jamgaon R, Ranitarai, Asoga, Kharra Patan, and Jhit, Chief Minister Baghel interacted with villagers, shared the achievements of the state government and unveiled statues of local freedom fighters.

Speaking about the campaign, Chief Minister Baghel expressed his satisfaction with the enthusiasm displayed by the public. He also addressed the recent visit of Prime Minister Modi to Bastar, clarifying that the state government had consistently advocated keeping certain assets in the public sector to benefit local employment. He raised concerns about the privatization process of certain plants and land, emphasizing the importance of maintaining public ownership.

The ‘Bharosa Yatra’ represents a crucial endeavour by the Congress party to engage with voters and build trust ahead of the impending elections in Chhattisgarh.
