India has won two bronze medals in roller skating at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou. The women’s team, consisting of Sanjana Bhatuka, Karthika Jagadeeswaran, Heeral Sadhu, and Aaratju Kastury, secured a third-place finish in the 3000m relay event. The men’s roller skating team also achieved a bronze medal in the 3000m relay.

In table tennis, Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee narrowly missed out on reaching the finals. They settled for a bronze medal in the women’s doubles event after a fighting match against North Korean Suyong Cha and Sugyong Pak.

The Indian athletics contingent showed potential, with Tejaswin Shankar aiming for a medal in the men’s decathlon. Mohammed Afsal Pulikkalakath and Krishnan Kumar. Qualified for the men’s 800m while Vithya Ramraj advanced to the women’s 400m hurdles final.

In archery, India displayed their prowess by defeating Hong Kong and securing a spot in the quarterfinals of both men’s and women’s recurve team events.

Furthermore, demonstrating their dominance, the men’s hockey team defeated Bangladesh with a score of 12 0 to secure a place in the semifinals. Yesterday was Day 8 for the team, achieving 13 medals across different sports, including three golds. Avinash Sable made history by setting a Games record in the men’s 1000m steeplechase, while Tajinderpal Singh Toor successfully defended his gold medal in the shot put. These outstanding performances have significantly contributed to India’s medal count, which now stands at 13 golds, 21 silvers and 22 bronzes.
