Mumbai: Fukrey 3, the third installment of the popular comedy franchise, grossed ₹43 crore nett in India on Sunday, its second day of release. This is the second-best day of the week for the film, after its opening day of ₹8.50 crore nett. It is expected to earn Rs. 12 crores as Monday being Gandhi Jayanti, it could cross Rs. 50 crores in just 5 days.
The film’s Sunday collection is slightly lower than that of Fukrey Returns, which grossed ₹16.50 crore nett on its second day of release. However, it is still a good result for Fukrey 3, considering that it is opening against Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan.
Fukrey 3 has been receiving mixed reviews from critics, but audiences seem to be enjoying the film. The film has a rating of 3.5 stars on IMDb, and it is trending at number 1 on Twitter in India.
The film’s success on Sunday is a good sign for its overall box office performance. If the film can maintain its momentum, it could have a successful run at the box office.
The business in metro cities is good with multiplex chains contributing 60 per cent of the total collections. It witnessed spike in business on Sunday and shall stay in double-digit range on account of Gandhi Jayanti holiday.
Meanwhile SRK- led Jawan is continuing with his historic run as the film is seeing a jump of 75 per cent on the fourth Saturday. The collections of the movie are boasted by Buy one get one free offer and it has been a masterstroke of sorts from Red Chillies Team.
