Vancouver: A gathering of supporters advocating for Khalistan recently took place outside the Indian Consulate in Vancouver. They expressed their grievances over the alleged assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who is considered a Khalistani terrorist. These demonstrations occurred following Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s accusations that the Indian government was involved in Nijjar’s killing. The protesters proudly waved Khalistan flags played music, and chanted slogans to show their solidarity. As a symbol of their discontent, they burned India’s flag in a trash can near the Indian Consulate. Similar protests also happened concurrently in Toronto.

According to a report by News based in Canada, the protesters strongly denounced Nijjar’s death as an “assassination.” Demanded a public inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his case. These demonstrations were part of a series of planned events organized by Khalistan supporters across cities.

The World Sikh Organization had previously warned about incitement and interference”. Urged people to remain vigilant, as reported by News sources. Tejinder Singh Sidhu, President of the World Sikh Organization, issued a statement calling for an investigation to identify those responsible for Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s death.

According to a report by News, he also mentioned that if people in the community feel unsafe or witness any attempts to incite violence, it would be advisable for them to contact law enforcement promptly. The protests highlighted the delicate nature of the Khalistan issue among the Sikh diaspora in Canada and its implications for relations.
