Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to make a significant appearance in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh on Monday, where he will address a massive gathering of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers. The upcoming event has prompted the closure of several schools due to anticipated heavy traffic congestion, as the Bhopal Police have regulated various routes to facilitate Modi’s arrival.
This event, known as the ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh,’ is being organized to coincide with the birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyaya, one of the co-founders of the Jana Sangh, marking the formal culmination of the BJP’s extensive ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatras’ that have crisscrossed the state. BJP leaders have indicated their aspirations for an immense turnout, with reports suggesting a target of 10 lakh people to demonstrate the party’s formidable presence.
The decision to declare a holiday in numerous schools stems from the need to manage the expected traffic congestion in various areas due to road regulations imposed for the event. Over the weekend, parents received notifications informing them of the school closures scheduled for Monday, owing to the Prime Minister’s visit.
The grand rally will take place at Bhopal’s Jamboree Maidan, with Modi anticipated to arrive around 11 a.m. and remain until 1 p.m., according to VD Sharma, the Chief of BJP’s Madhya Pradesh unit. The event is expected to be a significant political spectacle, drawing attention not only from party members but also from the wider public in the lead-up to the forthcoming elections in Madhya Pradesh.
